DJ T.A.G. is a german producer, label owner and resident DJ at the legendary Tresor Berlin. Inspired by the 80s New Wave sound and Dark-Synth-Pop like Depeche Mode, he quickly delved deeper into electronic music and discovered Detroit Techno. After buying his first equipment T.A.G. started to spin his first records in 1997. Two years later he got more and more influenced by Tresor Records and artists like Cristian Vogel and Neil Landstrumm, who incited him to develop his very own Brighton Techno sound.
For a few years he played regularly at various Clubs in Berlin and the surrounding area. In 2003 the time had come for the first gig at Tresor’s New Faces program and success was not long in coming. Due to his sound and mixing skills T.A.G. was among the top three winners of a ‚Tresor DJ Award‘ and became an official member of the Headquarters team. An official residency at Tresor Berlin in 2007 changed everything – requested by many clubs (PAN Hannover, Waagenbau HH, Distilery Leipzig, Zodiak Brüssel…) he started to play all over Germany and European countries like England, Spain, France, Belgium, Holland, Russia, Switzerland, Poland. This was followed by a second new residency at Geheimclub Magdeburg.
In addition to all this T.A.G. set up an own studio, to be able to produce his own individual sound and transfer it to a live format. Over the years he had the opportunity to play countless live shows, using a pure hardware setup – it makes things more interesting and creative.
These live shows are a mix of straight impelling but also broken techno beats, abstract synth sounds and dark vocals.
Beside his own activities as a DJ and producer, T.A.G. started in 2016 together with his good mate Thomas Wandrach their common project TAG & WANDRACH that released tracks on Kippschalter, HIKE, City Noises etc. over the last few years. Furthermore they founded a label called T&W Records.
But the end of the flagpole seems far from being achieved…
